Green is the New Black
12 January, 2023
The construction industry is a constantly evolving sector, always striving towards change and innovation, however, it is primarily responsible for 23% of air pollution, 40% of water pollution, and 50% of landfill waste, according to Parametric Architecture. Construction materials hold the city together literally and figuratively, but most materials currently used in the construction industry are harmful to the environment over their lifetime in one way or another. As an industry, we are all constantly seeking ways we can reduce, or even eliminate the harmful impact.
When we think of green materials, what comes to mind first are plants, greenery, and landscape, but it is so much more than that. Green materials are consideredenvironmentally friendlier and more sustainable to the environment, and we are so proud that our EKOPIPE fits into that category.
This is why you should switch to EKOPIPE:
- EKOPIPE reduces the use of Portland Cement by up to 80%
- EKOPIPE reduces concrete CO2 emissions by more than 50%
- EKOPIPE exceeds the 2030 Commonwealth emissions targets
- EKOPIPE fully complies with Australian Standards
- EKOPIPE is fully compatible and can be used with standard steel-reinforced concrete pipes if required.
The development of EKOPIPE, utilising BX3 technology, represents a true embodied carbon reduction for a steel-reinforced concrete pipe, and is the first of its kind in Australia.
